What you can expect:
-
Highly
experienced coaches,
most of which are familiar faces at our pool. Our coaches create a
fun atmosphere in which every swimmer improves.
-
A
flexible practice schedule.
We realize swimmers also participate in other sports and camps as well as
family vacations! Practice is available M-F for ages 9-18 and M/T/TH/F for
our 8 and under swimmers. Participate at whatever level is appropriate.
-
Great
Competition!
We have 4 home meets and 4 away meets held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday
mornings. Also we compete in two invitational meets and two championship
meets, all held in Naperville! Again, we are flexible. Participate at
whichever level you chose.
-
Fun
Social Events:
A team outing to a water park, family pizza party, spirit days, fun Fridays,
and an ice cream social.
-
Ribbons
to celebrate your swimmer’s races and fun prizes for improved times.
-
Parental
Involvement is
needed and is half of the fun. We do ask parents to work 6 jobs per family
per season. At the same time, when you are with your neighbors and friends
and your kids are having a blast on a warm summer night, it hardly feels
like work.
-
Reasonably priced.
Our fee is $135.00 per swimmer for HSTC Members.

Swim Team FAQ:
How old does my child have to be to join, and how much does it cost?
A child has to be 5 by June 1st of the year they join and the cost
is about $135 per swimmer as long as they have paid for an active membership
for the season. More details posted above
Do you have to attend practice everyday, so you can’t sign up for
other summer sports and camps?
No. Our coaches are flexible and understand the wide interests of
our swimmers.
Do you have to swim in all the meets?
No. There is a meet blog available for you to sign out of the meets you wish not to attend.
http://SwimTeam.HuntingtonPool.com
Do parents have to work all the meets?
Each family is asked to work a certain number of jobs, in the past
it has been six. If parents would like to become a swim official, their
training session counts toward their total number of jobs. If both parents
take a different job in the same meet it counts as 2 jobs.
How long is the season?
The last regular season meet is mid July. The championship meets
are the last 2 weekends of July. Swimmers participate in just one
championship meet. Again, you can select which dual meets you want to
attend.
Do I have to be a good swimmer?
Our team is made up of swimmers of all different levels. We have
great coaches who are committed to helping everyone improve. We have a great
coaching staff and we have a blast! Our head coach is Katie
McWilliams. Katie is a lifetime swimmer, who most recently swam for the
University of Virginia, which is where she received her masters in
education. All of our age group coaches are returning from last summer.
They are also probably familiar faces. Many of them are our pool’s
lifeguards and are either current or past members of our team. We have a
great group of swimmers and a season of fun events.
We would love to see you this summer!!!
