Can I bring guests to the pool?
Yes. Out of town guests (out side of 630) are free. Local guests are $3.00 for children under 17, and $5.00 for 17 and over.

At what age can my child attend the pool without a parent or guardian present?   9 years old AND must be a good swimmer.

Are flotation devices allowed?
Water wings and vests are allowed for the younger children. Rafts and other floatation items are not allowed. We also have “Noodle” every Wednesday night.

Is alcohol allowed at the pool?
Yes we allow alcohol to be brought into the family refreshment area. Glass bottles or containers are never allowed. The guards are required to check your cooler. Although we allow liquor, we urge our members to act responsibly. The pool is a family environment.

Can I smoke at the pool?
Sort of.  Please remember that some of our members are allergic or bothered by smoke.  We will comply with Illinois Laws on smoking so you must be over 20 feet away from the building and in a designated food area, and please try to go down wind of other members when smoking.  That is generally along the East Fence depending on the direction of the wind.  thanks you.

When is the pool open?
The season memorial Day weekend.  We are open 7 days a week when school Dist 203 is out and Saturdays and Sundays through mid September. Please note the outside temperature must be 68 degrees or higher for the pool to open.  The pool is heated, but for efficient operation less people come on cold days.  Also for safety, if there is thunder or lighting, the pool will be shut down for at least 30 minutes after thunder is heard.

Can we have parties at the pool?
Not a problem. Check with the guards and fill out an application for the party. This year the black out dates are July 1st thru July 9th. That is a very busy time at the pool and we want the facilities to be available for our members only. You are responsible for all clean up from your party. A $50.00 deposit check is required. It will be returned at the end of the party provided the area is cleaned up. Parties must end by 8:30pm to allow adequate time for clean up.

I want to take tennis lessons. Do I need to be a member?
Yes. You need to be an active member to take lessons. But we sometimes have a limited number of tennis only memberships.  Unlike swimming maintenance social only members can play tennis and register for tennis programs.  More information can be found at  http://huntingtonpool.org/tennis.htm

I have a question about the club rules Where can I find the handbook?
We review the club handbook as new issues come up.  However we have the current handbook blogged at:
HSTC Club Handbook and Rules

I would like to be on the pool board. How much of a commitment is there?
Being on the board is a great way to give back a little something to the community. The pool is an important part of our neighborhood. It’s a fun and safe place to spend the hot summers. Make a difference and join the board. It’s a two-year term in your respective position, and an optional one-year in another consecutively. It does require a certain amount of time commitment, but we have never had anyone quit the board due to time constraints. We meet one day a month, year round. We start looking for next year’s board members in the summer. Contact anyone on the board and we’ll be glad to talk to you.

Membership info
How do I become a member and what costs are involved?
It’s easy to join Huntington Swim and Tennis Club. Our entire club, including the pool and surrounding property, is owned by its membership. To become an equity member, you purchase a bond from the pool. The cost is $1500.00. It’s a one time fee. You now own a piece of the pool. You have access to the pool, Social Events, Family and Adult Parties, Tennis and much more. You are however responsible for yearly dues which helps maintain and run the pool. For more information about costs and the different memberships, visit that section on our website at: http://huntingtonpool.org/Membership.htm

If I know I will not use the pool for the entire summer, do I still need to pay for the dues?
Yes. As long as you are a bondholder you are responsible for paying your yearly dues. You may opt for just a Maintenance Membership for the season, which keeps your bond current. As a maintenance member, you will not be able to use the pool, but you can attend all the adult social events.

What if I know I’ll be selling my bond sometime during the summer, why should I have to pay?
Because it’s the commitment you made when you purchased the bond. We need all the dues paid every spring in order to run the pool safely and properly. If you know you are selling, just pay the maintenance fee on time and the person who buys your bond will only be liable for the difference between an active membership and a maintenance membership to use the pool.

How do I sell my bond and will the pool buy it back?
You can sell your bond to whomever you wish as long as your membership fees are up to date you are probably a member in "good standing" which is required before you can sell. You also must pay a $75.00 bond transfer fee before we will recognize and honor the new bond. Sometimes budget permitting the pool may purchase back bonds from members who wish to sell. This year we are not doing this.  We have a limited budget but we can help because we keep a seller's wait list. To sell your bond contact the Membership Director listed at: membership@huntingtonPool.org or 630-364-4461.  remember you do not have to wait to sell your bond.  Just talk up the club around the neighborhood with new residents or people with children.  Bonds often sell faster that way.

Does the pool have a bond sellers waiting list?    Yes at least for 2008.   This is a procedure but it seams to be working very well.  Prospective members will be given a couple of the oldest names on the wait list.  However, feel free to sell the bond yourself.  That way you get the best price and there is no waiting your turn on some list.

I’ve lost my bond. How do I get another one?
We reissued all bonds in March of ('08)  We keep the original on file and bond holders receive a copy. If you sell your bond, your original bond will be marked sold and a new bond will be issued to the new owner.
